Interim Terms of Service

1. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

2. Not medical advice

Cancer Screen Iowa provides educational information only. We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not use the Services as a substitute for professional medical advice. If you have symptoms or urgent concerns, seek medical care.

3. Your responsibilities

• Use the Services lawfully and respectfully.
• Do not misuse the invite tools (no spam, harassment, or unauthorized messaging).
• Do not attempt to interfere with or compromise the security or operation of the Services.
• Do not reverse engineer, scrape, or circumvent rate limits or access controls.

4. Care Circles and sharing

If you join or create a Care Circle, you control what information you share. You are responsible for choosing appropriate sharing settings and understanding that any information you choose to share may be visible to other Care Circle members according to your selected permissions.

5. Employer programs

If you join through an employer program, your participation is voluntary. Employers may receive aggregate engagement metrics only. We do not share individual health information or your detailed checklist responses with employers.

6. Sponsor offers and third-party content

The Services may display clearly labeled sponsor offers or links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for third-party content, products, or services. Your interactions with third parties are governed by their terms and policies.

7. Intellectual property

The Services, including software, content, trademarks, and logos, are owned by Cancer Screen Iowa or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use (or internal business use if you are an authorized employer administrator).

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, misused the Services, or created risk for the Services or other users. You may stop using the Services at any time.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CANCER SCREEN IOWA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

11. Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cancer Screen Iowa and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be brought in state or federal courts located in Iowa, unless otherwise required by law.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post updated Terms and update the effective date. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
